Care hire near me

When you rent a vehicle from Maxi Car Rental, we need to collect certain
information from you. The service that you use will determine exactly what
information we collect from you. That information may include:

  • name;
  • address;
  • contact telephone number(s);
  • contact facsimile number(s);
  • date of birth;
  • drivers licence number and state of origin;
  • vehicle preference;
  • credit card number and expiry date;
  • email address;
  • company name and employee number;
  • contact details of individuals who can provide professional references;
  • reservations and rental details including information about where you
    collected the vehicle and the date, time and location of its return.

A valid credit card or Visa or Mastercard debit card must be provided for all
car hire – currently, we accept Visa and Mastercard. The credit card holder is
listed as the hirer and must be present at the time of rental commencement.
Cash is not accepted for any payments or bond.

The minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21 years of age.

  • A ‘Young Driver Surcharge’ per day may be applied to your rental, if you
    are between the ages of 21 and 24.
  • Drivers aged between 21-24 are restricted to Standard vehicles only.
  • All drivers must have held their license for a minimum of one year.

It’s true that the initial car hire near me, doesn’t always mean there’s a car return location near me.

We will allow returns after hours and will have procedures in place for your early
or late return. Please check with the rental location when picking up your
rental vehicle for exact procedure. If you want to return a vehicle when the
branch is closed you must check with them when picking up your vehicle to
determine if an “after hours” service drop box is available.

Please Note: A vehicle that is returned after hours will not be checked in until
the next business day. If returning after hours when a branch is closed, the
customer is responsible for the vehicle until the satisfactory check in of the
rental vehicle the next business day.

Your car will be full of fuel when you collect it.

You can refuel the car yourself before returning it (fuel must show as full). If
the vehicle is returned with fuel gage not showing as full, the customer will be
charged for refuelling. As petrol prices fluctuate daily, we cannot provide a
definite number, however our refuelling service will be at a much higher rate.

Australia has a significant number of toll roads – in particular Brisbane, – all of
which are cashless. Tolls vary dependant on the road used and the length of the journey. Toll charges are based upon information provided to us, as the
registered owner of the vehicle, from a toll road authority.

If the information provided to us by the toll road authority – time, date and
vehicle – indicates that you were the renter, the credit or debit card you
provided will be charged for the toll with an administration fee of A$40 AUD.
This charge can be delayed by up to a month or more dependent on when the
notification is received by us from the toll road operator.

  • Can I bring my own toll device? Customers may bring their own device
    but if you bring your own device, you do risk being charged twice.
  • Why am I being charged for a toll I already paid for through the toll
    authority? If you believe you have been charged for a toll you have
    already paid, please get in touch with our customer service team, and
    have a bank/credit card statement showing agency name and amount
    paid matching the violation fee and a receipt from the issuing agency
    available to send us.
  • Can you send me the actual violation or toll notice? The letter we sent
    you includes details about the date and time, as well as the location of
    the incident. However, since we typically receive only electronic
    notifications – which reduce processing expenses and time delays – paper
    copies of tickets or violations generally are not available.

Contact us as soon as possible – you must let us know within 24 hours if you’ve
been involved in an accident.

  • Write down all the details of any third parties, witnesses and police that
    attend at the scene.
  • If your rental vehicle isn’t drivable and the police arrange for it to be
    towed, make sure you get the name and phone number of the tow truck
    company and (if possible) the registration number of the tow truck.
  • You’ll find an accident report form in the glove box of your car that will
    walk you through the info required.

Traffic infringements may be issued for a number of driving and/or parking
offenses in Australia, including speeding, going through a red light, failure to
adhere to line marking, driving in a bus or transit lane, littering, failing to
purchase parking tickets, not parking in the direction of traffic and exceeding a
parking time limit.

If we receive an infringement incurred during your rental period, we will
complete a statutory declaration to this effect, and the fine will be sent to you
at the address you provided us. We charge a A$40 admin fee for this service to
the card provided at the time of rental. Unfortunately, we cannot pay the
infringement for you, only the admin fee.
